It considers the perspectives of all those associated with stage interpreting. The film reveals performance interpreting as an art form in it's own right. As we watch 4 interpreters interpret a variety of music, poetry & storytelling, the interpreters reveal the incredibly arduous task of processing, on the fly, poetic content from one syntactical structure to another. A replica of Stonehenge located in Alliance, Nebraska, CARHENGE was built by Jim Reinders in 1987 during a family reunion, and has become a huge tourist attraction for the state of Nebraska, drawing between 30,000 and 80,000 visitors per year. Produced by David Liban, CARHENGE explores how and why this monument was built and the opposition it faced from the the town of Alliance. This underground art movement within the barbed wire and fences of the prisons produced some of the most heart-breaking and personal works of art ever made. The "tailor" in the film is Ben Altman, who survived 5 concentration camps in Poland. JAZZ BRIDGES … (2007)

The result was ‘Jazz Bridges: Music Without Frontiers’, a concert film depicting the meeting of two very different styles of musical genre: Western (American) Jazz and Eastern (Afghan) Folk. The film contains interesting interviews which explore the difference in attitudes and perceptions between the musicians. The Western musicians were the first to play in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban; the Eastern musicians, Afghanistan’s pre-eminent folk ensemble, were banned from playing music for years under the Taliban.
